2nd birthday party!!!!!!!

Here are the pics from Nathan's 2nd birthday party! We had so much fun!
We had Nathan's party outside (in the 50 degree weather, and of course I forgot his coat) at a local park. It was perfect because the kids had plenty of room to run and play and enjoy the sunshine!

This playground is for bigger kids and I've never let Nathan venture to the top by himself... until the party. He did so well and didn't try to jump off the top of the 12 foot high slide. He went with buddy and neighbor Caleb and was so proud of himself for doing it all by himself!

After all that playing, we were starving! Time for lunch!!!

Wendy (my college roommate) and her little baby boy (Ethan) were so sweet to come out and brave the cold to celebrate with us! :)
Proud parents and a birthday boy!

Time for cake!!!!
Nathan's bday is the 23rd and my dad's is the 25th... so this year we had 2 cakes to honor both Papa and Nathan!

Papa has obviously blown out candles many more times than Nathan... he wasn't sure what to do!

Nathan certainly knows how to eat cake... and had Yaya right behind him helping to make sure he got plenty!

The cakes were delicious and it was fun to watch all the kids and parents chow down on the fun!

Nathan was so excited to see his friends! Long before food and cake, Nathan discovered that as his beloved friends came to his party, they often brought presents and I wondered how he would handle this. He was so gracious and told his friends "thank you for da present".

I love these of pics of Nathan and Colton...

As he opened the presents, he was happy to let his friends help. It was so sweet to see him share that fun with his friends.

This quilt is so special! My mom made it for Nathan and it took her so much time! She and I picked out the fabric this summer and she's been working on it for months! I LOVE IT! It's now hanging at the foot of his big boy bed and one day will go on his bed. Thank you Yaya for all your hard work!
One of the most hillarious parts of Nathan's party was the pinata. Of course I thought about the pinata, and filling it with toddler friendly goodies (suckers and gummies)... but I didn't bring a bat or a string to hang it from. So we made do and I used birthday banner to hang it and a big stick from the woods. Bert, the oldest kiddo, showed the little kids what to do. It was hillarious to watch the little ones as they had no clue as to the point of the activity, but were happy to participate in the fun.

Aren't they so cute all in a line! The only one that didn't make this picture was baby Ethan who was sleeping.

After the kids took a turn, I was delighted to have a whack (or 30) at this pinata!
Bert, however, finished it off and then the mayhem continued with a candy frenzy. It was cute though as the tots figured out what was going on!

Thank you so much everyone, for coming and sharing in the celebration of Nathan's 2nd birthday! We really enjoyed spending time with you all and sharing such a fun day with friends!
