Spring is coming

14 months and 10 months

Like my friend, Shelby, I'm not sure what the groundhog said, but this past weekend and week has certainly felt like spring.  We've spent a great deal of time outside and have loved it.  Nathan has learned to ask to go outside, and has also learned he knows how to open the doors that lead outside.  CRAP!  Needless to say, I'm thankful that the handles on the storm doors are a bit higher and out of his reach.  I am locking the deadbolts much more during the day though!  We've spent so much time at parks and in the back yard and are hoping the weather continues on this mild trend!  Here's some fun pics from our family weekend in the sun.

This past weekend felt so much like summer, we let Nathan run around shirtless in the backyard.  Precious I tell you, absolutely downright adorable!  We had so much fun basking in the warmth of the sun.

A big red chair

While we were at the Museum for Izzy's party, I couldn't resist the opportunity to take pictures of my little man in a GINORMOUS red arm chair.  He didn't know what to think and sat so still!  Unfortunately the light coming in the window did strange things to my pictures, but I still think they're worth sharing!

Izzy's 1st Birthday Party

Saturday, we helped Izzy celebrate her 1st birthday (although technically its not until tomorrow).  She picked a great spot for a party - the Children's Museum!  Izzy was so sweet greeting Nathan with such a big smile.

He was a little shy for the first few minutes,

and then found a yellow chair and proudly climbed up into it and sat down.

Nathan was glad to see his friends there and happily sat with them to eat cake!

He's also discovered that he really likes Madison and has learned how to say her name... "mad a ma".  Perhaps she is his first girlfriend? :)

Izzy loved her cake as well and had more fun playing in it than eating it so it seemed!

She was certainly ready to get into her presents!

Happy birthday Izzy! We love you!!!

Weekend adventures

This past weekend was beautiful, as this whole week has been, and we spent the majority of the weekend with friends.  One evening, we went over to Quinton, Kristin, and Colton's house and played outside, ate pizza, and hung out for a long time.  The boys were filthy after playing outside and eating pizza, so, it was time for a bath!  It's been a long time since these two were in a tub together, since early July in fact, but it's fun to compare the pictures from then and now.

Some things certainly remain the same... Nathan is much tanner than Colton (even in the middle of February), Nathan is bigger still, Colton still has more hair, and they are still two ADORABLE boys!

They had a great time drawing on the sides of the tub with Tadoodles.  Thanks Kristin for that idea.  Of course, they both wanted to hold both crayons, so next time, we'll have to use 4 of them! :)

After the kiddos went to bed, the adults stayed up and talked, played wii, and ate more snacks.  It was a great night and so much fun to hang out while the kiddos slept.  Thanks for being such great hosts Q & K!!

Celebrating Colton's actual bday

BUDDIES
Since Nathan couldn't be at Colton's party due to lingering RSV germs, we were so happy to get to celebrate Colton's actual birthday with him this past Monday.  Nathan and I met Kristin, Colton, and Kristin's parents at a local McDonalds and the boys enjoyed their first happy meals together.  The nuggets were a big hit with them both and Colton loved all of the attention the staff kept giving him.  Those two boys ended up with 4-5 happy meal toys each (thanks to Kristin's daddy), and free ice cream sundaes!  Wow, great service from a Mickey D's!!!

After a very healthy happy meal, we headed to a local park and we all had a blast in the spring like weather.  The pics tell it all!

What a wonderful day.  Happy First birthday Coltster!
