Today's Top Two

playing in the sun

You know, there's nothing like the warm sun on your back... especially when you can run around in just a diaper and enjoy the freedom!  Here's to our happy happy happy afternoon in the sun!
This is Vitamin D at it's finest!

Dunk Dunk baby boy!

Running running running

Nathan is starting to do silly things to make us laugh.  I love the progression of pics as he gets up from a squat and runs to tackle something.

Only to change his mind and run toward something else.  :)

more running.  lots of running.  and turning.  and frolicking.

fetching the ball for Bailey (hmmm, isn't this backwards?)

denied puppy dog!
Don't worry, she's not at all vicious.  Her weapon of choice toward Nathan is her tongue, so sure, she licked him a hundred times in 5 seconds, but people, he had her ball and was taunting her with it.  You can tell by the closed eyes that he knew it was coming! :)
Silly dancing

enjoying the texture of this rug under his feet.  sweet little bare feet... with a badly scraped up toe.
Toward the end of our outdoor adventures, Nathan found Bailey laying in her spot... under his playhouse in the shade.  He took her ball after ball.  It was wonderful to see him sharing with Bailey!
One ball...
Two balls...
Three balls.
But then, he wanted Bailey to swing... hmmm
I think she's perfectly content with 3 balls in the shade.  What do you think?

Today's Top Two

While we're on our trip, I want to hang out as much as I can with m family, so in lieu of posting pics of what we did each day and detailing it, I'll give you my top two pictures of the day and save the long winded (not that I would ever be) details for later! :) Here are the top two today!

Nathan LOVED seeing all the airplanes so close. When he first saw one out of the terminal window he shouted "big one"!

The whole day travel wise couldn't have been better and our little one was a perfect angel! He even slept in my arms for 75 minutes on the second leg of the trip. This hasn't happened in almost a year. He was fast asleep in my arms before the airplane ever taxied out on to the runway on the second flight!

Okay, so I'm breaking the rules already... doesn't it feel good to wash away the airport funk after a long day of traveling?

What's on your tot's plate

this meal was a HUGE hit which I never expected!  blueberries, raspberries, OIKOS greek yogurt... that's not the part I was surprised about.  It's the broccoli quiche I was shocked that Nathan liked.  He gobbled it up and asked for more.  For a kiddo who won't eat broccoli and rarely eats eggs, this was a fabulous meal for him.  They are made by Nancy's and I found them in the freezer section.  Shelby- this one is for you!

Next up, a favorite meal with a twist.  Hummus and raspberries, nothing new.  Add almond butter, hummus, or honey nut cream cheese to sandwich thins by Arnold, and you have a new twist on lunch!
Strawberry YoKids squeezers which are frozen make great snacks after playing outside in the heat!  Better than a popsicle because of the calcium and protein!

OIKOS blueberry greek yogurt, raspberries, diced carrots, walnuts, spinach and cheese bites, and corn bites. He really liked these as well.  It was a great way to get veges in him that he normally doesn't eat.

So, lets help each other find more foods for our tots!  Take pictures and share your tot's food ideas with us here!

Memorial Day fun with Izzy and family

We celebrated Memorial Day with Izzy and family.  They graciously invited us over for a cookout and we happily took them up on it!  While the daddies were tending to the grill, the kiddos wanted a little snack, so they shared some Cracklin' Oat Bran.  Aren't they cute at this little table!

This little one, whom Nathan fondly refers to as "eeeesa" has some killer blue eyes doesn't she?
Well, while the steaks were cooking on the grill, it seemed the perfect opportunity to let the kiddos play in Izzy's baby pool.  No sooner did we fill up the pool, and the rain began to fall.  Since there was no thunder or lightening, we let the swimming continue and I happily (I mean selfishly) deemed myself the photographer.

Meanwhile, Bethany, sweet sweet friend and mommy and wife, is standing in the rain (with her hubby who's grilling, and my hubby who's watching) supervising the kiddos.  See the rain falling around her?
The rain continues to get harder, and the kiddos keep playing (mind you only about 2 minutes have passed since the first drops).
As seen in this pic, Nathan decided enough was enough.  It looks like he's telling Izzy it's time to go inside and dry off.
Distracted by the chance to pour water, he happily plays a bit longer, as does Izzy.  No problem to me! Remember, I'm safely and "dryly" taking pics, while the other three adults are standing fully clothed in the rain.
Nathan has finally had enough!
A picture worth a thousand words!
Izzy, not so ticked off by the rain, happy to play in the warm baby pool - most of the water was from the tap inside where it was warmed!
Having had enough of the pool, and the rain, Nathan climbs to the top of the slide, only to protest one more time with this face.  (Remember, I'm standing in the open doorway 2 feet from him, so he could have just walked inside, rather he gave me the opportunity to shoot this great shot!).
The whole swimming event lasted less than 5 minutes, but 2 soaked babies and 3 soaked adults later, it all seemed worth it, at least to me! :)  Hee hee.  As for my little man, pooped.  Hubby?  Enjoying the pooped snuggles of a little one!  Bethany?  She's one tough cookie and was not phased by the rain, nor was her hubby the grill master of the evening.  Izzy?  Like her momma and daddy, completely unphased!
What a fun night guys!  Thanks for cooking and for sharing the evening with us!  We'll see you soon!
