I can hardly believe that today Nathan is 6 months old. I remember thinking when he was about 2 weeks old that May 23rd was so far away, and now here it is. Time has flown by and it makes me really stop to consider how precious and how short those days really are. In the last 6 months, Nathan has changed so much! He's moved from a tiny preemie, to a "tub-o-luv"; he's learned to cry, to pout, and to whine (all of which are important in letting us know what he needs); he's learned to flirt and oh my goodness is he good at it! Nathan has learned to roll over, pivot on his belly, and scoot a few inches forward. He's gone on a boat ride, to the park, to church, to many friends houses, and has spent plenty of time at Lake Gaston. He's eating all kinds of foods: apricots, pears, bananas, peaches, prunes, blueberries, apples, avocado, beets, spinach, peas, green beans, sweet potatoes, carrots, white potatoes, oatmeal, barley, rice cereal, mixed grain cereal, and he's drinking a little apple and apple/prune juice every now and then. We've moved him from a bassinet to the crib (that happened when he was like 5 days old), we've lowered his crib, we've taken the bumpers in and out and then put them back in again. Some things that haven't changed over the last 6 months... Nathan still has bright blue eyes like his great grandpa: Bumpy, grandmother: Lori, and Grandpa:Jim L; he is still a great sleeper and will still sleep anywhere; he still loves the car and going on adventures; he still has an amazing temperament and a fabulous smile; he still hates to be tired; he still loves Bailey; he still loves his blankies and any soft thing he can put on his face.
Of course there have to be tons of pictures and maybe a movie to celebrate this momentous day!
Let's start with the movie... Nathan loves this black and white ring - and he enjoys talking to it. I'm not sure what he's saying to it in this clip but it looks pretty serious!
Here are Nathan's 6 month (26 week) photos with his lion...

I did my best with these, but I'll post more tonight or tomorrow. They are tricky to take solo these days because Nathan no longer wants to sit with the lion. He wants to eat him! Chad and I will work on these together and post them later!
Here are several sets of comparison photos from the last 6 months...

These days holding my toes and chewing on my fingers is what I do most!

Such a sweet little nose and mouth
Have I mentioned I love his little feet?

I also love his little ears!
Nathan doesn't casually gaze into the mirror anymore - he all out plays with it, biting it, kicking it, and even tossing it!
Fun floor time with Bailey

But mommy, if i just hold the bowl myself, I'll get to eat much faster! I promise to clean the bowl out too! (click on the picture to see the food he's gotten all over his face from sticking the bowl on his face)
A fun afternoon on the back deck
do you ever just wonder what he's thinking about?

I used the pillows to keep him from toppling over while I was taking his pictures... unfortunately they didn't hide the dark black railing to the chair and once Nathan spotted it, he was on a mission to touch it!
Thankfully, once he discovered it was hard and no fun to chew on, he went back to watching Bailey chase the squirrels.

"uh oh"

Now that I like to be on my tummy, playing in my crib is so much fun!
I love to talk to this lion - I tell him all kinds of things!
Sometimes I even growl at him!
Do you see what I can do? I can stick my butt up in the air and scoot forward!
