Nathan's first haircut

Haircut take two!  Thursday night, after a delicious dinner at Moe's, our crew of three headed to Great Clips.  No vomiting could stop us this time!  Thankfully, our little guy gets the sillies when it's late because it was almost 8pm when we walked in and he's usually counting sheep at 730pm.

Pre hair-cut photo... neither of my boys were paying attention to the camera... I think Chad is talking and Nathan is enthralled with the new scenery

In his usual "ain't life grand attitude", he was all for a new store with lots of mirrors and colorful combs.

Not knowing how in the world you do baby haircuts, I declared myself the photographer and Chad the responsible adult!  He was perfect for the job too (as usual).  The lady asked if it was his first time and when we said yes, she said, "this probably won't work, but let's try him in the chair."  Low and behold, Nathan loves chairs and thinks they all spin in circles.  He was very happy to sit on the booster seat in the big chair!

She wrapped him up with the cape and started snipping.  I of course was COMPLETELY in the way snapping a million pictures of my baby getting his hair cut, but she was great and so patient! Say bye bye to the long hair over his ears that made him look so much like a girl someone asked Chad what "her" name was while they were out the other day.

Nathan, who is very attracted to pretty blondes, was thrilled to have all of this attention, and he flirted with the lady almost the whole time.  He seemed to like the feeling of the comb on his head and the cold scissors against his skin.  He grinned and made all kinds of silly faces.

Such a big boy!!!
Hey daddy, this is fun!  Are we almost done though?
Time for the back of his neck... no problem, just get him to look down into a mirror!  This lady knew all the tricks and Chad was right in step with her keeping Nathan entertained, still, and looking down at the mirror.

When the haircut was finished, Nathan reached for her, and signed more please!  So we sat him back in the chair.  Turns out, he wanted a comb, or two, or three!
That's right, buddy, that is what we do with those!
Post hair-cut smiles

All day on Friday, Nathan would point to his head and hold out his hair, as if to say, remember my hair cut!  I would say, "that's right you did get a hair cut" and he would grin and giggle!  So sweet!  He pointed to his hair and pulled on it as if to tell the cashier at Harris Teeter about his haircut.  He also told his daddy and my Uncle Mark!

Speaking of Uncle Mark, thanks for taking us all out to lunch Uncle Mark!  You're the greatest and it was wonderful to spend some time with you!!!  We wish you the best in Tanzania and can't wait to come and visit!!!
