Bailey and Sadie

Many of you know that we've adopted a puppy for a little over two weeks.  Well, actually we're puppy sitting for my parents.  Little Sadie is now 10 weeks old and she is feisty as ever!!!  She is a standard poodle pup and will likely be taller and longer than Bailey, our golden retriever, although hopefully she won't weigh as much (Bailey is a whopping 90 pounds - don't worry Michelle, she's on a diet).  She's growing everyday and has almost outgrown the sweater I bought her a week ago (she has a hard time staying warm when outside playing with Bailey).  

At first, Bailey was a bit unsure about this new addition.  She was very polite to Sadie, but made it abundantly clear who was alpha.  These days, I find them curled up together outside, pooping side by side, drinking out of the same water bowl, and constantly playing tug or war.  The other night we were watching Idol and Bailey jumped up to her usual tv watching spot (the couch) and Sadie was determined to join her.  Well, with some help from Chad, she made it up to the couch and curled up right next to Bailey.  Mom and Dad, this is only fair, after all you guys spoil Nathan rotten, so surely you won't mind if we spoil Sadie while you're out of the country! :)

A week later

Playing Tug of war and vocalizing some playful growls... the tiny growls are Sadie and the loud growl at 14 seconds is Bailey, followed by her immediate surrender of the toy to Sadie.  I don't understand dog language sometimes.
