Arizona!

Well, it's time to catch up on the month long hiatus of blogging. This little baby in my belly is a bit more demanding of all of me than Nathan was and I've spent a lot of time on the couch lately! Thus blogging has been out of the picture, but I'm going to try to get back into it as I've missed posting pictures and telling stories of our adventures!!!

The 2nd week of March, my mom drove up and she, Nathan, and I boarded a plane bound for Phoenix, AZ. Nathan did absolutely perfect during the LONG day of travel and even managed to successfully wear big boy underwear and keep them dry! He napped like a champ on the plane, stayed in his carseat, and mastered standing on the toilet seat to pee instead of sitting (ewwww public bathrooms are nasty). It was nice to have an extra set of hands and eyes with my mom traveling with us too! We all flew out there to visit my grandmother, Ginga, as we call her. We had a wonderful trip and really enjoyed our week long stay! The highlights for Nathan were:

-the orange, lemon, and grapefruit trees and playing with the itty bitty grapefruit all week
-everyone's yard is nothing but small rocks, so my rock lover was in heaven on our walks
the wildlife zoo

-playing at the community center
-going to the pool and Nathan jumping off a 1.5 meter diving board over and over (yeah... i called a stop to this because it was exhausting for me! The water was 12 feet deep and neither nathan or i had flotation. my mom would walk him to the end of the board and then he'd jump in and go down under pretty deep (maybe 6 feet). He did well swimming up to the top but then he and I had to swim/tread water all the way back to the ladder...

-our visit with long time friends the St. Clairs
-sleeping in his tent (thank you kidco's peapod)
-spending time with Ginga and her fun neighbors and YaYa
-the cactus (and the hard lesson that they have prickleys)
-"flying up so real high in the sky" on the plane

It truly was a memorable trip and we enjoyed it to the fullest!
