Snow!!!!!!

The Friday before Christmas, the weather man said the word... "precipitation". In NC, when said in the winter months, that means there might be snow... which translates to grocery store pandemonium as every loaf of bread and gallon of milk are immediately bought off the shelves. Usually, we get a little dusting, and all wish there had been more. Or, we get ice storms, like the one in 2002 or 2003 that left Chad and I (and thousands of others) without heat or power for 8 days! :) Well, last year, we had a freak snowstorm in March (I posted about it here), so my hopes were high that this forcasted snowstorm would be just as much fun! As forecasted, the snow began at noon and we were just finishing up tot school! We bundled up half of the kids and the other half headed home. I'm not sure who was more excited, the kiddos or mommies, or Bailey. As the snow began to fall, the kids, now old enough to love snow, began to enjoy it...

I love the action in this shot...

Bailey was chasing the snowflakes and loving the frigid weather.
Just a few hours later, we had a good 1.5 inches on the ground. Nathan and one of his good buddies made snowballs and we let Nathan frolic in the falling snow with the neighborhood kids as long as he was warm... and since he never got cold, we ended up calling it a night after 2 hours of romping in the snow.
Warming up by the fire
The next morning, there were a good 6 inches of snow and Nathan and Bailey were chomping at the bit to go out and play. Nathan told me he needed boots, a hat, a jacket, but no gloves so he could touch the snow. I insisted on gloves, and we were on our way out the door to play.
Isn't he cute? Same snow bibs from the last big snow (thank you so much Dianne!)... and he's looking much happier about them than last time don't you think?
Bailey was born for the snow, and loves to catch the snowballs that anyone will throw... and there were tons of kids throwing them for her!

Before we get to those pics, how about a little glimpse of the best hubby around!!!

Here are the snow pics... way too many, but hey, we don't get snow often and I want to remember this fun day!

Just a few of the neighbors who came out to play!
After watching Bethany and Daddy and Tim roll down the hill, Nathan wanted to try. He did this again and again and again.

Naturally, mommy couldn't be outdone by the toddler...

and in typical fashion, if NayNay does it, Izzy must too.

As if the rolling wasn't enough fun, there was tons of sledding to do, and plenty of fun to be had!

Thank you Jesus for sending some white stuff our way!

allelu, allelu, allelu, alleluia, Praise Ye the Lord

When Nathan was 20 months old, I posted this post regarding my high school youth group reunion and Nathan "leading worship" for the first time. I finally have gotten around to posting the videos from that proud mommy day! I hope you enjoy!
