not to be confused with Nathan's 1st bday party... it was time to party with Zachary! He celebrated his birthday a little bit early surrounded by kiddos and parents who absolutely adore the little guy!
Zachary's mom and dad planned a great party to celebrate the first year of Zachary's life. Here is the proud birthday boy with his mommy and daddy...
The kids spent some time playing together, and of course, Nathan and Zachary crawled off into baby jail.
And then crawled out simultaneously.
The girls were much more laid back as they played.
Then we sang Old Mac Donald and a few of Zachary's other favorites. This was followed by the ever popular bubbles! I'm sad to admit that Nathan had never seen bubbles, and he was delighted to chase and pop them.
After the bubbles, Kristin outdid herself with a parachute and balls and huge balloons to go on top of the parachute. The kids were supposed to sit in their mommies laps and watch and help shake the parachute. Like this...
They all did, except for Nathan. He doesn't like to watch the action so much, he likes to be IN the action...so he crawled off of my lap and on top of the parachute. Zachary also thought it looked like fun and joined in.
Then Nathan crawled under the parachute and squealed with delight. He was grinning ear to ear as all the commotion was going on over top of him. Eventually, he came back out and all the kids played on top of the parachute with a bunch of balls. They loved it.
Finally, birthday hats and a group photo shot was in order... yeah right. Getting 5 babies to wear party hats and sit still all in a row gave me a new appreciate for Anne Geddes work. I'm not sure than any of us got a good picture, but here's the best one I got.
Opening presents was a big hit too. Zachary seemed to know they were for him and he started to play with a couple right away.
Such a sweet birthday boy. Such an amazing little guy! Happy 1st birthday Zachary... officially on 11/7!
(I do realize my child is naked in most of these pictures. He spit up and we were having too much fun to worry about a wardrobe change!)
