Nathan’s first baseball game!

DSCN7915

A couple weekends ago, we headed to a baseball game with Matt and Emily! Seeing that it’s August and in the south, I was nervous about being outside given that I’m pregnant and super heat sensitive. Thank you Jesus for that nice breeze that blew allllll night! DSCN7914DSCN7922

Nathan spent the majority of the evening sitting/standing in Chad’s lap and he was pretty focused on the game. He loved all the stuff that went on between innings but was not a fan of the silly string that one of the mascots sprayed! :) We all loved the kettle corn though!

During some of the game, Nathan had a prized seat… daddy’s shoulders! This was especially fun during cheers and songs. Nathan was really eager to see Bird Zirk, at least from a distance. When he came close, and started dancing all silly, Nathan wanted nothing to do with him. When Bird Zirk stood still and offered Nathan a high five, my toddler light up! He wanted to hug him and dance with him and all but offered him a ride home. :)

While Nathan loves baseball, he heard that we were going to a baseball game and there would be fireworks at the end… and baseball game was lost in translation. Sweet kiddo was rearing to go at 10pm when the fireworks began. He sat so still it was hard to tell he was breathing. Every now and then he’d grin ear to ear or make an exclamation about the fireworks. Even baby Taylor enjoyed them… with each snap, crackle, or pop, she jumped! :) Too funny! We had a great night and it was so much fun to be with family. Matt and Emily are always super fun to be with and this was no exception. Thanks for taking us guys! We love you!

Awkward picture of Nathan’s hand and he and I’s faces, but here you go folks… for those of you who’ve been asking, here’s a belly shot! I’m almost 30 weeks!!!DSCN7923Take me out to the ball game, take me out to the crowd….

Bailey and Nathan

boy and his dog11 weeks (19)

5 weeks old 10 weeks old

In the beginning these two were big buddies. Their relationship has grown and changed over the past 3 years (as it began for Bailye at least while Nathan was still in my belly). Now they fight like siblings and love like siblings. I love seeing the quiet snuggly moments between them. I caught some this morning, when Nathan had brought his blankie out of his room to snuggle with Bailey. SOOOOOOO sweet! DSC_0060 DSC_0059 DSC_0061DSC_0065 DSC_0064 DSC_0062DSC_0063

I’m willing to bet we have the sweetest dog in the world. Bailey, you’re still the first born baby!

Cute as can be! My fluff addiction returns!

I realized about 3 months ago that I could make cloth diapers for Taylor and so that’s what I set out to do.  My mom is an amazing seamstress and has a sewing machine, I’ve sewn a little, I mean really how hard could it be? It’s never good to answer that question out loud.  It took hours and hours to cut the fabric (thank you Corey for the help) and hours and hours to assemble the first diaper.  After mom and I’s recent 4 day diaper sewing stint, we have now made 12!  I even made two today all by myself!  Well, Nathan helped me with parts of the pinning, but essentially I was flying solo!  I haven’t taken pics of those yet, but here’s the first few we made!  Aren’t they super cute!  Lets just hope they work!!

Poor little guy… he started throwing up Tuesday night and ran a really high fever 102.8.  He threw up threw the night (and did an amazing job waking us up before he needed to puke so that we could get to him with the bucket).  Since Wed morning, no more throwing up, but he’s still got a high fever and not much appetite.  Today was the lowest the fever had gotten, around 100.4 and then it spiked again right before Nathan’s nap.  This time 103.6.  Yuck!  He’s in great spirits though and even enjoyed playing in the sprinkler/rain this evening.  It cooled him off and he was able to expend a little energy!  We’re hoping you feel better soon little man!

Additions to Nathan’s room

While daddy’s been home, we’ve also been adding some finishing touches to Nathan’s room…

These have been up for a while, but not sure if I showed you all! :)

My sis-in-law-to-be and her mom (Emily and MiMi) painted these awesome 10x10 canvases for Nathan’s room.  They are sooooo amazing and he loves them!   Chad painted a rectangle out of BEHR “melted chocolate” and he and Nathan hung these amazing canvases. (The bottom two on the left and right are from Target, but I think the other 4 look way better, don’t you!)

DSC_0993 Under Nathan’s light switch, we added a little more personalization.  He LOVED putting his handprints on the wall… something that I believe will be a family tradition through the years.  Didn’t it turn out super cute!

Today, Chad’s brother (Matt) is marrying the most wonderful girl in the world (Emily) and we couldn’t be happier to celebrate with them and family in every way possible!  They are an amazing couple and we are soooooo excited to share in this special day… and to share with them in their life long marriage!  Nathan’s offical role in the wedding?  “Pimp in charge”.  I bet you’re holding your breath waiting for pics huh?

Taylor’s nursery… a little snapshot!

We’re no where near done, but here’s where we are so far on our little girl’s room!  We’re so ready for her to come in many ways, and sooooo not ready in others! :) DSC_0930 DSC_0931 DSC_0933

The paint is BEHR’s “pecan sandie” and the bedding is called “Zoe” from Glenna Jean.  My sister-in-law-to-be and her mom are painting canvases for the walls; we have wooden letters to spell her name in the mail which will be painted an assortment of chocolate, khaki, and pink; we have an awesome cherry tree wall appliqué to put up; some shelves, and a few other things.  The closet is nicely stocked already! :)  Thanks to consignment sales and generous friends, we have all the clothes we could ever need for a long while!  And, since we’re going to use cloth diapers, we’re stocking up on the girl colors both purchased and handmade! :)

Where in the world we’ve been and what we’ve been up to…

I’ve taken a blogging hiatus for a good reason… 2 vacations (totaling 3 weeks), a bacterial infection, a sinus/respiratory infection, a hubby taking a week off work, nursery work, painting, a wedding in a couple days, and tons of fun filled days and nights!  Here are some quick pics to bring you up to speed.

We’ve been adding to Nathan’s wall of art/projects… It’s filling up quite nicely!

We spent almost 2 weeks with my folks and my family (and new adopted family) from GA.  We had SOOOOOO much fun!!!

The three (well 4 counting Taylor) of us spent a week at the beach… full of playing in the sand, the pool, crab hunting, swimming, staying up late and taking loooooong naps… probably our best vacation ever!

DSC_0802DSC_0774DSC_0795

For the last month, I’ve been making cloth wipes and diapers (well me and a busy crew of volunteer helpers namely my mom and Corey)… There have been a lot of late nights of cutting and hopefully in the weeks to come there will be some major sewing!

At home, we’ve been doing everything possible to stay cool… racing cars, jumping in puddles, playing in the sprinkler, going to the pool… and reallllllly enjoying daddy taking a week off from work for a “stay-cation”

The purpose for daddy’s week off… other than to love on me and Nathan and enjoy time at home without the noise of work… the get this little girl’s nursery ready!  Nathan was a big help.  Too bad I didn’t pictures of him rolling paint on the walls.  Are you kidding?  I was too busy trying to make sure the paint made it to the walls!  Post to come with more details!
